Shayala Diamond of Lotus Moon says that, "beading is like meditation" to her. Many women, including myself, have found themselves relaxing to the feel of beads running through their hands. I find myself getting excited at the possibility of bead shopping. The fact that I work in a bead store is a double edged sword.
Beading is theraphy for me. It is no surprise to me that religious groups use beads to count prayers. And this speakes to the bead's mediatative properties. I could and have sat and fingered pearls all day long and the stress seemed to melt away.
I find it moving as to just what happens to individuals once they open themselves up to beading. Not only are they popular, and can you create beautiful artwork, but they provide focus and purpose.
It makes the most sense to me that beading projects have been used as physical therapy in hospitals. That children's beading projects are successful in schools and that surprisingly to me beads are now being sold in prisons. It is important to note that beading is not a magic elixir. Like every other tool, it helps those who are ready and willing to be open and helped.
Beading is theraphy for me. Beading has also become a creative outlet, a form of expression to share. Initially, one may say even selfishly, I only designed jewelry for myself. I then graduated to beading for gift giving and ultimately to producing expressions that others also apprceiated and wanted as their own.
Beading is theraphy for me. I combined by new love with my loves, my children and TnT Designs was born. It is my desire to discover a local community project to which I could bring beading as theraphy to others.
